AoA Grant Programs
Funding Opportunities
Each year, Congress appropriates funds for use by AoA and the other Federal Agencies in carrying out their mission. AoA provides grant funding to States and territories, recognized Native American Tribes and Hawaiian Americans, as well as nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and academic institutions. Individuals are not eligible to apply for AoA funding.
For those new to the AoA grants management environment, the Overview section below provides a brief profile of the types of grant instruments we use to fund our programs, the procedures applicants must follow in applying for these grants and the reporting which is required of recipients.

To Obtain an D-U-N-S Number/What is a D-U-N-S Number
Electronic Government or eGovernment is one of the Presidential Management Initiatives. The United States government is moving toward providing the public the ability to conduct all business with the government electronically.
Grant applicants are encouraged to obtain a D-U-N-S number from Dun and Bradstreet. This number will be a requirement if the applicant applies on-line. It is a unique, nine-digit identification number, which provides unique identifiers of single business entities. The D-U-N-S number is free and easy to obtain.
To obtain a number please use this link: https://www.dnb.com/product/eupdate/requestOptions.html
Or go to the D&B web site, http://www.dnb.com. On the right side of the screen, there is a question: Are you in D&B’s database?
Click the second bullet, “Get a D&B D_U_N_S number for your business.” Follow the instructions from there.
If you do not have access to the web, please call D&B at 1-800-234-3867 to obtain a number by a different method.
